Tim, a very touching and appropriate piece about Bob. You represented his unending joy and kindness well. He truly has given us an incredible visual legacy that was so Bob. I often knew before looking at a photo caption when an image was captured through his lens. Magical and memorable.
Beautifully written. I am also fighting it for the 3rd time. It hurts when someone loses but from what I hear he put up an amazing fight. I love his work, so sad.
Tim, what a beautiful piece. We first met Bob when we hired him to be our photographer for bASH, the fundraiser for Appellation Saint helena. He took wonderful pictures unobtrusively, just perfect, of people who were having a great time enjoying the fruits of our valley. Thank you for writing this.
Tim, so poignantly written , touching us all with your words and your palpable emotion transcending your words. I feel awe and gratitude for your photos and your written word allowing us all to grasp, to feel, and to know the subjects of your beautiful writings..
Thank you Tim. I have posted my thoughts and feelings about Bob’s photography on FB and expressed the influence on me as a long time industry professional but having moved here only two years ago.
I have always seen and appreciated the beauty and depth of this special valley but having seen it through his (and your) lens gives it a whole new meaning.
Even though I didn’t know Bob personally I am extremely sad about his passing.
Thanks, Tim, for capturing so beautifully what Bob gave to this valley by helping to tell its stories. His talent was matched by his kindness and generosity. I have lost count of the times he helped me out by sharing his photos when I was at the Register. I remember when his cancer went into remission and I learned in advance that the V Foundation was going to announce a grant in his honor at their annual Wine Celebration. Bob was back working taking photos at the Dinner with the Docs, and I found myself in the humbling position of taking a photo of Bob McClenahan when the grant was announced. He was gracious even in saying the photo wasn't so bad. He is irreplaceable.
Sad to learn that Bob was taken from us too young. He had a keen eye and was a bright star in the Valley. Our condolences to the family and his friends of which I am certain he had many. Rest in peace sir.
I am heartbroken to read about this. What a tremendous loss not only to his family but to Napa Valley and the enormous number of people that were lucky enough to share and admire his incredible photos. A beautiful tribute to the man he was. While I didn't know him I knew who he was merely from his photo credits. I hope his family publishes a book featuring his photos of Napa Valley, perhaps to build a college fund for his two boys. Thank you Bob, for enhancing all our lives with your eye for beauty and talent behind the camera.
Beautifully written tribute to Bob McClenahan. The photographs are a wonderful sample of his work.

What a loss. A beautiful life cut so short. The pictures say it all. RIP.
Beautifully done Tim.

Bob, with all respect for who you are and the life you led, may God be with you always in heaven. Thank you for all you gave to us.
Your artfully crafted eloquent sentiments are a perfect complement to Bob the person and his craft. Well done sir! Bob would certainly blush.
