It’s hard to say “wonderful” about anything to do with a terrifying experience, but your photographs and writing are wonderful. Your critique of the “Napa Valley Lifestyle” is perfect, too. So much hard work by so many people goes into that, and it’s invisible to most visitors.
Whew! Just the stark photos bring back difficult memories of the Glass Fire. And of struggles so many experienced at that time. It's important to remain on top of those memories in order to be aware of actions needed ... just in case. Good story and amazing photos.
I missed this story at the time because I was not yet a subscriber. So, late to the party, but thanks for beautiful writing and photos. Between the LNU Complex and the Glass Fire, I evacuated three times that season. I was able to return to an intact house, but many of my friends lot their homes. A sad day/year for all of us.

Well done, Tim.
