I also have lived in areas where many migrant workers have lived and worked. There is so much inadequate and incorrect information about the process of gaining US Citizenship and legal Resident status available. This article is beautifully and clearly written and I hope to share it with many who will benefit from having access to the information. I am so pleased to hear that the Napa Valley has taken this issue seriously and thank everyone for all the work needed to assist those who WILL be amazing Citizens and Legal Residents. Thank you for your feedback that the article is clear and helpful, as it made my month!! I hope you will continue in the pursuit of justice and help for immigrants. It is so rewarding and betters the country as well as its communities!
I am so sorry I dropped the ball and didn't respond to your comment! Yes, I did work with NAFSA with many F-1 and J-1 students at Mills College. As I began my work with international students, I relied heavily on other International Advisors, all of whom were members of NAFSA. I attended many local and National conferences. Our paths may even have crossed. I"m glad I made your month! I love hearing that! And, yes, I will always continue my pursuit of justice and help for immigrants. Although I now live up in Sacramento County, there continue to be many opportunities to help those in need. There are many Ukrainian refugees up here, along with many others who need all of the help and support we can extend. Thank you for what I know were many years of helping students. I found it to be very rewarding work, which I miss in retirement. Be well. I look forward to more articles from you in the future!
