Centered on the West Napa Fault, the quake involved right-lateral strike-slip motion and significant afterslip, leading to ongoing infrastructure challenges. Historic buildings were damaged, utilities were disrupted, and the wine industry suffered significant losses due to damaged barrels and tanks.
