(N) Vine Trail Town Hall Meetings: Yountville to St. Helena Link
The Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition and the County of Napa continue their town hall meetings to discuss the Yountville to St. Helena Vine Trail construction. The upcoming meetings are on Feb. 2 at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom and Feb. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the Yountville Community Center. Phase two meetings are planned for April. These sessions will cover the trail's design, environmental considerations and project timeline. Community members are invited to attend and share their perspectives. (R) The Wine Train Special for Napa Neighbors
The Napa Valley Wine Train is offering special deals for Napa Neighbors: a $99 Gourmet Express Lunch with a sparkling wine toast and a multi-course meal for a three-hour journey, and a $175 Legacy Tour that includes a six-hour trip with wine tastings at Krug and V. Sattui. Tipping is appreciated. The offer, valid through March but not Feb. 9 to 20, requires reservations by calling 707-253-2111 and mentioning the Napa Neighbor offer. (R) Napa Valley Mustard Celebration
The Napa Valley Mustard Celebration takes place from January through March, highlighting the region's vibrant wild mustard blooms. This event, revived by artist Jessel Miller, involves various cities in the valley, each hosting a week of mustard-themed activities. Calistoga's events are scheduled for this weekend. Upcoming celebrations include Atlas Peak Road on Feb. 3 and 4, Napa on Feb. 10 and 11, Yountville from Feb. 28 to March 3, and St. Helena from March 8 to 10. (R) Atlas Peak Appellation Association candidate event
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Atlas Peak Appellation Association will host an event with District 4 candidates Amber Manfree and Pete Mott at the Silverado Resort's Vintners Court Room in Napa. This is not a debate but a chance for each candidate to present their views and answer pre-submitted questions. The event provides insight into the upcoming March 5 election, crucial for district-wide legislative decisions. (R) Napa Valley Marathon Set for March 3
The Napa Valley Marathon and Half Marathon are scheduled for March 3, with the full marathon stretching from Calistoga to Napa along the scenic Silverado Trail at a cost of $205. The half-marathon, starting at Conn Creek Winery on the Silverado Trail, is priced at $160. Additionally, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Napa 5K, starting from the marathon's finish line and supporting local community funds, has a registration fee of $55. Runners can register at their website.
(R) Napa County 2024 Primary Election Day, March 5
California's primary election day is March 5, when voters will decide major party candidates for the presidential race and local elections. Napa is a "vote by mail" county, with ballots to be mailed to registered voters the week of Feb. 5. Unique this election, only two candidates are vying for each of the three board of supervisors seats, potentially allowing primary winners to be elected outright in Districts 2, 4 and 5. (R) Green Screen Film Series at American Canyon Library
Starting in February, the Napa Climate Now's Green Screen Film Series will be shown at the American Canyon Library on Saturdays from 1 to 2 p.m., featuring short films and activities for preschoolers to adults. The lineup includes "Waste is a Verb" and "The Story of a Plastic Bottle" on Feb. 3, "Microplastic Madness" and "Plastic-Free Lunch Day" on April 6, and "Tail of Two Farms," "The Hottest Day," and "Change the World in 5 Minutes" on June 1. Calistoga’s Hearts & Hands Preschool is hosting a Drive Through Valentine’s Dinner catered by LocalQ 707 on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 2448 Foothill Blvd., Calistoga. Outer Space Wines in Napa presents a series of events throughout February. On Feb. 2, enjoy a wine tasting from Sicily and Sardegna for $25. The Blue Skies Ahead 2024 event, organized by Mentis, begins with an online auction from noon on Feb. 24 to 6 p.m. on March 2. On Friday, March 1, from 6 to 9 p.m., attendees will be treated to an exquisite dinner with wine pairings at various venues in the Napa Valley, each seating 10 to 15 guests. The following day, Saturday, March 2, a reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the CIA at Copia, featuring a life-size version of the Game of Life, a guest speaker and a live auction. The 2024 BottleRock Napa Valley, headlined by Pearl Jam, Stevie Nicks, Ed Sheeran and Maná, is scheduled for May 24 to 26 at the Napa Valley Expo.
