I perked up as I read this over coffee, saying "yes, yes... YES!" You have put into words what I have been feeling. I'm reading news, rather than watching, reading what people are writing in Social Media posts, and then stepping back because it is too much. Losing democracy this way is so depressing.
The country went through McCarthy, Nixon, 9-11, and other nasty events and we survived. I hold in my heart that it will survive this. Trump will go down in history as how a president should NOT be.
