It’s getting more difficult because manufacturers permanently seal their products or create specialized fasteners that require a tool that they won’t sell to you. Something’s got to give. And it has to happen soon. I’m in despair over what is happening to this planet.
It seems few, maybe even no one, planned for a future where nothing degrades and landfills fill. Polyester: Oh, look! It doesn’t wrinkle! Solid state hard drives: Just replace the whole computer. Labor is cheap in Farfuckistan. Nuclear power: Free power forever! Waste? Not to worry. We’ll just bury it in Nearfuckistan. Plastic: The answer to everything!
